It makes me proud to learn that one of my dedicated and promising student Smt. Poornima has completed 25 years of her career as a dancer. She joined my school Venkatesh Natya Mandir (www.bharathanatyam.org) at the tender age of six and performed her 'Arangetram' at the age of seventeen. She has performed many leading roles in well acclaimed dance dramas produced by our institute, to name a few she has performed as Sita in Ramayan, as Shakuntala in Geetha Shakuntala, as Mohini in Mohini Bhasmasura, as Radha in Geetha Govinda. It was always a pleasure to teach Poornima, her dedication and passion towards Bharathanatyam always amazed me, it comes as no surprise that today she has established a Bharathanatyam school of her own and is contributing towards spreading the great heritage of Indian classical dance to aspiring students. I wish her all the best and success in all her future endeavors.
